Points given below are six factors of On-Page optimization. You may want to study them carefully.
(1) Content Optimization
Creating contents for both search engines and people can be tough job because at one end you don’t want your content look dull and another end you don’t want to look as a spam. This confusion can be erased if you think rationally and want to write more for people and optimize the content keeping the people in mind.
Quality writings can attract people. Even if you are selling a pencil, you have to be creative in your writing because people try to find something new, discover something that interests them. This isn’t hard to do. Letting people into your website needs good content, and perhaps this is the most important part of this whole game. Just concentrate on the visitors who will be reading all your contents. If you have bad contents, you will loose visitors.
Search Engine Second
After writing a good content for the real people, it is time to do little editing. Search Engines are smart but not as humans. They are smart because they scan the whole webpage and then try to identify keywords and locate them. After this, they would tell what the website is about and how they would rank them in search engines. The key is not to use too many keywords in the content but use different phrases of keywords.
<title>Title Goes Here</title>
Every websites are recognized what they are about by the Title. Title Tag stays at top of the browser. You shouldn’t overlook this section. As being the first step of On-Page SEO explanation, and even if you have to spend few days on deciding what to put in Title tag you should spend more time on researching keywords so you can put them as phrases in Title tags.
Important aspects of the title-tag:
· Every page has its own Title
· No more than 10-12 words in Title
· Put the keywords as phrases
Meta Tags were playing major role few years back but now the tags are not very useful. However, Meta description has some importance because it is displayed in search engines result page.
Following are meta tags and their usability:
<meta name= “description” content = “This will show up in SERP.” >
<meta name=”robots” content=”” />
The ‘robot’ tags are there to tell search engine whether to index or not. As you can see above, the robot tag can be anything like index, follow, noindex and nofollow. Depending upon your preference you can use those tag accordingly.
(4) Headlines & text decoration
Head Tags are not only to keep visitors informed about the page but also for search engines. H1 to H3 tags are both relevant but H1 is more prioritized by search engines. Search Engines looks for relevant keywords in this section. So use <strong>and <em> this section and you may also try using some lists with <ul> or <ol>.
(5) TITLE- and ALT tag Attributes
Images links also need tags which can be achieved by putting ALT tags. Title Attributes are used to describe text-links. These both TITLE- and ALT Attributes are not only for SEO but also for visibility and accessibility.
(6) Updating website with new contents
Search engines favor those websites who updates their content more often. New contents create good visibility of websites in search engines and also allow Google Spider to crawl the websites more often as well.
